So asking for donations to keep the lights on and even add some new items sounded like a reasonable approach to us. Let us know how you would suggest to generate the necessary revenues?
KeymasterGuys, honestly, I do not understand you. Of course we would love to give you all the wealth the WordPress ecosystem has to offer and yea, for free for everyone. That is the whole point why we created the website. And yes, there are still limitations to this idea and we cannot fully realize it since we have to keep the lights on for you and pay for the licenses. That indeed means we have to make a choice and yes, we do make the choices for you what we can offer… Regarding the comment that some things did not work for you: that unfortunately may occur. If we would offer personal support, we could not run the site. So we are sorry to hear that but you will need to figure some things out yourself or with the help of the community. If you do not want to go that route: get a full paid license with full support from the respective devs: we can highly recommend it and you most likely will be served best. Just don‘t complain about the pricetag then…
KeymasterUnfortunately there have not been any further developments on an auto update plugin. If someone here is capable of writing such a plugin which basically can extract all relevant information of Plugins and Themes from the zip-files which are stored in an Amazon S3 bucket with a dedicated API that would be the best approach. Users at GPLDL could then get an API key and use the stand alone solution on AWS with their API credentials… Anyone?
KeymasterHi Bastian, you are not paying anyone. If you decide to make a donation you are doing so to allow GPLDL to maintain a catalogue of unmodified premium WordPress items. They may or may not work as you attended and some may require serial numbers which cannot be provided here because we respect the developers’ TOS. Some people in the community may provide solutions of how to modify the code as you see above. If you do not like that or if it still does not work for you, we strongly recommend to buy a full license from the developers and support them.

KeymasterNo, worries, it is there. We just removed the older Elegant Themes WordPress Themes, which are not maintained anymore.
KeymasterAll YITH Plugins were removed from GPLDL for two reasons: First YITH does not offer a membership model covering all of their plugins anymore which would require us to buy each item individually. Second the code quality of several YITH plugins has deteriorated significantly causing all kinds of issues with other plugins and making sites more vulnerable.
We believe that there are better alternatives available for almost all YITH plugins.

Unfortunately we cannot publish any plugins that we have not received directly from the developers. We need to ensure that the code is 100% clean and a true original. We could not guarantee this to our users if we receive submissions from 3rd parties. Therefore we cannot accept your plugin.
