Hi,
I would like to update the Yoast SEO Premium Plugin on my page. How to go best about it? If I deactivate and deinstall the old version, will it not delete all the settings and information I have on the pages?
Thanks for your help and time.
Best,
Daniel
I think best option would be to this:-
1. Install the new updated file
2. Deactivate old version
3. Activate new version
4. Delete old version.
Hi, thanks. Does not work for me :(
Hi
What error you got?
Hi, it says it could not be installed because there is already a folder with the name. So I guess I have to change the name in /wp-content?
thanks,
Daniel
Yes it’s right, but it will get installed and set as “deactivated”
Now you just need to deactivate old version and activate new version
awesome worked. thanks a lot. dan
Does not work for me… When I try to install a newer version of Yoast SEO Premium I get the same error message (folder already exists), however there is no deactivated version on my plugin page… Any idea why?
Thanks & Regards,
Dominik
Hi
You can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/
It makes the manual updating very easy and does everything for you.
You just have to update new update plugin file. That’s all.
Thanks
Awesome! Thank you very much for your prompt help, much appreciated!
Used the plugin suggestion from KempEnrique today. Worked like a charm. Installed this plugin, and then deactivating the existing plugin before installing its update is not necessary.
@Barbara You can use this plugin: You can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/
This plugin is best for manual updates and handles everything automatically. You just need to go to “Add Plugins” => Upload Plugin and then browse the latest plugin file.
It will handle the remaining things :)
