Hey,
Not sure exactly how you go about combing your repository for updates, but I assume the process is manual – you update a plugin or theme when you discover an update is available.
In this regard, it would be really helpful if you included a ‘Request Update’ link, something that let users easily notify you that an update is requested for a specific plugin.
Yeah, you might get an accidental false report once in a while, but it would still be more taxing than visiting plugin sites repeatedly yourself hoping to notice if a plugin update had been made available.
Agreed. Just now I noticed that Yoast WooCommerce SEO Premium is out-of-date, with some important fixes in the new version. It made me wish there was a way to quickly and easily let you know, which is why I came to the forum to request this feature.
Depending where from these plugins come, in some cases you can get an api key for automatic updates, later just running some cron jobs one could automatically get new versions..
