As a student i find this site is very useful to learn and hand on with WordPress.
Can i suggest to have installation instructions after download themes or plug ins? Can’t find anywhere on the site. :(.
is there a search tool to search the repository?

you can find the instructions on original developer websites. I believes, the admin will suggest that.

You can use combination keys CTRL+F to search specific name of plugins/themes in repo pages.
