Hi, in order to receive updates I should enter a Divi Builder username and API key. Are there any valid values I can enter? Elegant Themes has released Divi Builder 3, a major overhaul from 2.x. It would be nice if it was possible to make it auto update or have version 3 available on the website. Thank you
Auto updates will not be possible until you purchase theme directly from Divi.
You will need to manually download file and update your theme.
Hi Kemp,
Whenever I try to update I get the error:
“Destination folder already exists. /home/digit238/public_html/wp-content/themes/Divi”
Theme installation failed.
This happens everytime!
How can I get around this? Do I need to somehow delete the destination folder? Won’t this damage my website? I’ve never been able to update :(
Please help because I’m so stuck >_<
You need to delete the old folder with the name “Divi” to update the theme.
if deleting the old theme or plugin and then replacing it with a newer version, will all the settings and customization will be gone?
Hi Kees,
Where can I find this folder? What do you mean? Won’t I lose all of my customizations and settings be erased? How can I make sure everything is safe?
Thanks
You guys won’t lose the settings etc because they are in your database. Find the folder in your wp-content->plugins forlder.
But where is this folder? I’m new to web design… is it on the host control panel? Or within WordPress?
when ever i activate latest divi theme its give error “This page isn’t working xxx is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500” how to solve this.
thanks
How to browse the folder?
To easily update themes and plugins just use the “Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File” plugin.
Go to Plugins…Add New…then search for it.
Then you don’t have to remove the old version before updating, you just upload the theme or plugin and install then activate.
Saves so much time and effort.
