I love GPLDL.com and I am glad I found it. I wish there were more sites like it for other E-Commerce and CMS Scripts. It has inspired me to open a similar site for PHP-Fusion CMS, even! I have many Feature Ideas & Requests for the GPLDL site. Hopefully some of these are implemented. It would be lovely to hear feedback from other site members on my Feature Ideas & Requests also so please so comment here and let me know what you think of this site having each of these features, please. Here is a list of my Feature Ideas & Requests. Also, does anyone know if this site is running on WordPress? I suspect it is, am I wrong?- Better Forum with More Features – I would love to see a new, better Forum with new features like an editor like TinyMCE, CKEditor or WYSIWYG Editor, Post Preview Button, File Attachment Function, Forum Ranks and features like other Forums like phpBB, VBulletin or ForumEngine Forums have.
- More Categories in Forum & Sub-Categories – I would love to see more Categories added to the Forum like Member Introductions, WordPress Plugin Uploads, WordPress Theme Uploads and etc. Also, the Forum NEEDS Sub-Categories to organize the Categories and make the Forum neater. Personally, this is something I feel every Forum needs.
- ShoutBox – I would like to see Shoutbox added to the site. It’s an awesome, invasive way for Members to say hello and communicate with each other. Many sites nowadays do have a Shoutbox and I think this one should also, it would be lovely and if it doesn’t work out, it could easily be removed.
- Referral/Affiliates System – I would love to see a Referral/Affiliates System here on the site. Each Member that wanted to could sign up for the Referral/Affiliate System and would be assigned their own Referral/Affiliate Link, HTML Code and Forum Code to advertise the site and each time someone clicked the link, they could be credited and/or each time someone Donated they could be credited for referring the Member. It would bring in a lot more traffic and Members could be rewarded with Premium Memberships, PayPal Payments or so many Extra Free Downloads as Free Members or even other things. There are tons of ways to do this.
- Required Document Generators – I’d like to see document generators like Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and things like that added to the site. There things are needed for every site and these would make an excellent addition to the site.
- Separate Donations From Premium Memberships – I understand that Donations are the way to sell Premium Memberships and get funding for the site but I feel separating the two would be a great idea. Perhaps you could offer more Premium Memberships (I’d offer 3-5 Premium Membership Levels with access to different content) and offer them as Recurring Subscriptions because this is the ideal way to set up Premium Memberships. Members would still purchase Premium Memberships and would probably like the fact they are recurring payments that come out however often they set them up for. You could also offer Subscriptions Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Tri-Monthly, Semi-Annually, Annually and etc as well. Members would still Donate as well. Perhaps add a page or pane under Donations with the names of recent Donators and their Donation Amount, if the Donator decides to disclose the amount they donated and also find other ways to reward those that Donate. There are tons of ways to reward Donators, you could offer T-Shirts and other Physical Goods, Gift Cards and etc.
- Points System – Ah, I have been waiting to get to this one. A Points System on this site would be PERFECT. If some of the features I mentioned are added, a Points system would be ideal. Members could earn Points for posting in Forums, ShoutBox, Logging In, Donating, Upgrading to Premium Memberships and etc. Points could be taken away for Downloading, Deleted Shouts and Posts, Not Logging in for a Specified Period of Time and etc. There’s countless things you could do with this. Members could even Buy Points using PayPal. Points could be used for “Free Members” to Download more Plugins and Themes once they’ve reached their limited as a Free Member too. You could do countless things with Points System and I absolutely love the idea of it. I’d love to see it added here on the site!
- Other Features – I have ideas for tons of other Features but I am in a rush and I will post more Feature Ideas for this site in the Forum later, so if this post interested you, please watch for my second post.
I am willing to help with adding these features to the site if the owner decides to add any of them if help is needed. I have a large team of developers that are WordPress/WooCommerce experts (if site runs on WordPress/WooCommerce) and a large team of developers that are experts in PHP and ASP.net in general that would be more than happy to help and work on an awesome project such as this and they would do it for me very, very cheap.
