Reply To: How to update new version of a plugin?

I understand how to update existing plugins by FTP, however, how do you make WordPress know that you’re using the current version? For example:

The plugins page is showing the standard new version available message:

There is a new version of WooCommerce USPS Shipping available. View version 4.2.16 details or update now.

but I already installed version 4.2.16 and it’s showing that version is installed. But the new version message is still there. Any idea how to get rid of that?
